KAPIL SIBAL SHOULD EXPLAIN ABOUT THE SCAM OF 650 CRORE RUPEES, NOT MAKE WILD ALLEGATIONS-DR. HARSH VARDHAN

BJP’s Chandni Chowk Loksabha Constituency candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan has said that Kapil Sibal should explain about the undue waiver of Rs. 650 crores to Anil Ambani’s company because this was hard earned public money with the help of which the people of rural areas could get cheap telecom connectivity. Shri Sibbal has misused his position and committed economic offence which cannot be forgiven. He must get punishment for it.

It may be mentioned that on 1st April, 2014 in a Press Conference Dr. Harsh Vardhan had exposed economic connivance between Minister Kapil Sibal and Reliance Communication. Sibal overruled the senior officers of his Ministry and violated the Telecom Policy enunciated by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He deprived the country of Rs 650 crores payable in penalty by Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communication Ltd. in 2011. Heavy penalty should have been imposed upon Reliance Company and all the licenses in 13 circles should have been cancelled. Dr. Harsh Vardhan has demanded judicial enquiry into this scam. Shri Sibal caused loss of 650 crores rupees to the Government and deprived the people of cheap connectivity.

In February 2011, Vapayee Government had framed telecom policy to provide telecom services to the crores of rural peoples of the country. Under this scheme the private companies providing telecom services in the rural areas were to be provided subsidy in case they do not earn profit so that crores of rural people may get these services at their village level. This policy continued under the Manmohan Singh Government also. Reliance had deliberately switched off services to 13 circles and had caused hardship to its consumers. But Sibal waived the penalty with no valid explanation. Reliance has violated all 13 license agreements (one per circle) by unilaterally switching off its services with effect from November 22, 2010. Due to connivance between Kapil Sibal and Anil Ambani, the letter got waiver of 650 crore rupees and also opportunity to operate again. This caused untold suffering to its subscribers. This was in direct violation of all rules.

After be exposed by Dr. Harsh Vardhan when Kapil Sibal did not find himself in a position to defend, he has made wild allegations against Dr. Harsh Vardhan. Dr. Harsh Vardhan has asked Kapil Sibal to explain to the people that for which benefit he caused loss of 650 crore rupees to the Government. He also ordered an enquiry at his own level and declared himself innocent. Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that if a judicial enquiry is conducted only then the truth will be found out. The people of the country will be able to know the truth that how the Ministers of UPA-2 Government looted the public money.
