26th April: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa today announced a full lockdown in the state for two weeks starting from April 27 night, in a bid to contain the raging COVID-19 crisis.

The big question now is whether other BJP ruled state follow suit and impose a state wide lockdown, especially the worst affected states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

PM Modi had said that lockdown is the last resort, but the deteriorating Covid situation is forcing the BJP state chiefs to impose atleast some kind of lockdown in their state.

In Uttar Pradesh, there is a weekend lockdown, whereas in Madhya Pradesh, the capital Bhopal has been under lockdown from last two weeks. It was extended till May 3 on Sunday.
