Lieutenant Ummer Fayaz’s killers identified; 6 terrorists from Lashkar-Hizb joint group involved

Srinagar, May 11: The terrorists who abducted and killed Lieutenant Ummer Fayaz Parry on Tuesday have been identified and it has been reported that the locals of the area too helped the police to identify the killers of the Army officer. As many as six terrorists were identified on Wednesday and it has been reported that the terrorists belong to Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) groups. 22 year-old Fayaz Parry’s body was found with multiple bullet wounds in head and abdomen in Shopian district of south Kashmir. Fayaz was kidnapped from his home at around 10 PM by a group of terrorists. His body was found on Wednesday morning.

According to the reports, Fayaz was on leave and had gone to his home to attend the marriage ceremony of his cousin. Terrified, Fayaz’s family didn’t report the matter as they believed that he would be sent back home safely. “Umar had recently joined the Army and yesterday he had gone to attend a family function,” an officer said.

Army sources said that he had gone to his village unarmed. “He didn’t think twice about going to his village unarmed”, army sources said. “Young and full of life, the officer was just commissioned in December. The troops enjoyed being with him,” army sources said.
