Mahabharata actor Gajendra Chauhan inaugurates Gr Noida Short Film Festival at Galgotias University

The two-day long Greater Noida Short Film Festival began at Galgotias University on Saturday. Renowned artist Gajendra Chauhan, who played the role of Dharmaraj Yudhishthira in Mahabharata, inaugurated the event with lighting up a diya alongwith other guests invited in the film festival. The festival was organized under the joint aegis of Prerna Media Research Institute and Galgotia University. In the first session, the coordinator of the program introduced the guests. Among the guests present were film writer and director Akash Aditya Lamba, well-known television and film artist Supriya Shukla. From University, joint area campaigner chief Kripa Shankar, area campaigner chief Padam Singh, Galgotias University’s Registrar Nitin Gaur’s and advisor to University’s Chancellor Madam Renu Luthra welcomed esteemed guests with armband and momento.
In the inaugural session, Gajendra Chauhan, Yudhishthira from historical art piece Mahabharata, said that an artist is the one who shapes the future with his art and imagination. Art finds its own way. The artist is the one who has curiosity inside. One should never give up in life and efforts definitely lead to success one day.
Screenwriter and director Akash Aditya Lamba while addressing the gathering said that once I have also been a student. Though everyone keeps learning something or the other throughout their life. Expressing concerns over the quality of Indian cinema, he added that innovation is necessary in cinema. We have to be innovative. A new atmosphere of positivity is being created in India. We all should study Indian culture and keep our basics and authenticity intact. India was once a world guru and will become world guru again. Akash Aditya Lamba has been co-director of films like Gadar.
Renowned television and film artist Supriya Shukla expressed that we should focus on depicting our culture in films. All the countries around the world proudly showcase their culture in their cinema. We have various elements of culture which can be conveyed and canvassed to the audience through cinema. We have to enrich our culture through cinema and vis a vis.
Joint area campaigner chief Kripa Shankar said that thousand extinguished lamps cannot light a lamp, but one lit lamp can light thousands of extinguished lamps. We all have to become a lit lamp. In times to come, India’s culture will guide the whole world. Cinema can play an important role in this.
Area campaigner chief Padam Singh said that we have to decide our path for coming 25 years to become Vishwa Guru Bharat and keeping Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam in mind. India will definitely become a world guru in the coming times. We have to look within ourselves and decide our role. We have to recognize our duties towards the country. Films have a deep impact on the society. Films can also play an important role in this desired direction.
Dharma Jagran Manch, head of North Zone, Rakesh said that art is inside everyone, but one should know how to use it properly. Art should be used for the upliftment of the nation.
Registrar of Galgotias University, Nitin Gaur said that common people bring and live art and artists in their real lives. In such a case, artist’s responsibility also increases. Artist and art are also identified by the greatness of the character played by an artist.
Renu Luthra, Advisor to the Chancellor of Galgotias University said that media is an instrument of change. The feeling of patriotism is increasing in the country day by day and the country is moving fast on the path of development. She also said that It takes emotions and effort to bring art to life. The impact of same is as such that the reality of past events can be experienced through films. She was shairing her experience by giving examples of Kashmir file and Kerala story.
At the beginning of the first session of the Greater Noida Short Film Festival, Dr. Agnyaram Pandey, Dean of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Galgotias University, outlined the program. He said that more than 200 films participated in the film festival from different states of the country, in which 111 films were found suitable according to the theme of the festival. The films were reviewed by eminent personalities from the film industry and the best of them were selected. The national anthem was also sung at the end of the first session.
In the second session of the festival, Gajendra Chauhan placed valued inputs on different form of art in the ‘master class of film making’. Along with this, he also explained in detail about the challenges faced by an artist. During the interactive session, students and attendees asked questions about his form of art and experience, which he answered with his own experience and wisdom.
Third session of the programme discussed the agenda of films and cinema. Movies are not only a medium of entertainment but they also convey a purpose and deep message. Sh. Vishnu Sharma, Kshma Tripathi and Nitu Kumar put forward their views in an open forum ‘Popularity; social integration and film review.’ Everyone appluauded their efforts for same.
