MAHILA JAN SUNWAI ON 19TH & 20TH SEPEEMBER, 2016.
The Delhi Police is coordinating the conducting of the first ever Mahila Jan Sunwai in Delhi by the National Commission for Women. An initiative of the Chairperson, NCW Smt. Lalitha Kumaramangalam, the Mahila Jan Sunwai is being held on 19th & 20th September at the premises of the Delhi Police’s Special Police Unit for Women & Children at Nanakpura.
About 80 complaints of women in Delhi, to the National Commission for Women are being heard by Chairperson Smt. Lalitha Kumaramangalam, Members of NCW – Ms. Sushma Sahu & Ms. Rekha Sharma, in the presence of the complainant/s, the concerned IO/EO of the Delhi Police and their immediate supervisory officers, and the lawyers of the Delhi State Legal Services Authority.
This Mahila Jan Sunwai is an unique effort at bringing about synergy between various critical stakeholders involved in addressing issues pertaining to the safety & security of women in Delhi.
