Majestic Auto Limited employees protest in Greater Noida alleging wrongful termination
(26/07/2017) Greater Noida: Several dozen of Majestic Auto Limited employees are protesting outside company premises in Ecotech-1 area of Greater Noida. Employees allege wrongful termination by company authorities and are demanding for justice. The protesters alleged that company is terminating permanent employees from time to time without giving any proper reason.The bone of contention at present is alleged unlawful termination of 8 employees by the company which was done recently. The employees also claim that no notice period is being given to the workers and terminations are being issued on various flimsy grounds.
The protest strike is being led by a group of company workers and has presence of both terminated and current employees. All the protesting employees are employed on permanent basis in the company and many have been transferred in the past from companies Ludhiana unit.
An employee who has been on permanent payroll of company for last 10 years says, “From last few months the payments have become disproportionate. Over time and other bonuses are also pending. We have been complaining to different officials including District Magistrate but company refuses to have a conversation with our union. We want an amicable solution and we want to work peacefully. The practice of wrongful termination must be stopped”.
On the other hand, the termination letter issued by Majestic Auto Limited mentions wrongful behaviour and conduct of employees. Ten News also attempted to speak to company officials for their version however the same could not be obtained at the moment. HR manager of Majestic Auto refused to comment on the issue citing non-authorization, while other senior officials remained unavailable.
