New Delhi, 4 November, 2022: In a press conference by the State Election Commission on Friday, Commissioner Dr Vijay Dev announced the dates for the Delhi MCD elections.
The date of nomination for the MCD elections in Delhi has been fixed from November 7 to November 14, and the date of scrutiny has been fixed on November 16.
On the other hand, the date of voting has been fixed on December 4 and the date of counting of votes has been fixed on December 7.
Dr. Dev said that “Full preparations have been made for the elections. Fair elections will be conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.”
“In Delhi, we finished the delimitation procedure. Redrawn polling places were used. We are now ready for Delhi’s 250 wards. Delhi’s municipal corporation has control over 68 electoral districts. 42 seats are designated as SCs,” he added.
It is to be known that after the integration of the three MCDs, the total number of wards in Delhi has increased to 250. In which 42 seats are reserved for SC, 21 seats are reserved for SC women, 21 seats for SC, 104 for women and 104 for the general category.
While the total number of voters in Delhi is 1,46,73,847. The number of male voters is 79,86,705 and the number of female voters is 66,86,081 and the number of transgender voters is 1061.
