Noida, 7th September, 2022: The proprietor of a ‘clinic’ in Noida has been accused of negligence after a juvenile died while receiving medical treatment for stomach problems, officials said Tuesday.

According to authorities, the accused, named as Alam, owned a clinic in Sarfabad village in Noida’s Sector 72.

“After complaining of stomach problems, the 15-year-old kid approached the accused. The accused gave him some medicines, as a result of which he became very ill and died,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashutosh Dwivedi.

“We’re inquiring whether the accused’s medical degree is legitimate. Police have been stationed near his clinic and residence, and we have been informed that he is currently in Ghaziabad,” he added.

The minor, a native of Sarfabad, went to the clinic on Sunday complaining of acute stomach ache, and the accused prescribed him several medications.

However, the boy’s condition worsened by the evening, and his family transported him to Shivalik Hospital, according to Sharad Kant, SHO, Sector 113 Police Station.

“The physicians at Shivalik Hospital requested the family to transfer the boy to Nithari Hospital in Sector-30 because his condition was critical. The boy died at 11-11:30 p.m. on Sunday night,” Kant stated.

“They retrieved the deceased’s body and cremated him on Monday, and lodged a complaint on Tuesday,” he continued.

The deceased’s body was sent for a post-mortem examination. However, the cause of death could not be determined, according to authorities.

As per police, an FIR under Section 304A (causing death by negligence) has been filed in the case, and the hunt for the accused is underway.
