Motorist dies after crashing with BMW in Greater Noida West

Greater Noida, (03/08/2022): Three men were riding a two-wheeler when it collided with a speeding BMW car on the service lane near Cherry County police post in Greater Noida west around 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to police.

“The car was driven by Piyush Singh, a Gaur Saundaryam resident, and the bike was driven by Kunwar Pal, a Dadri resident from Ithaira village.” Sunil and Raghu were the pillion riders on the bike. Kunwar and Sunil were injured by the head-on collision on the service road, while Raghu escaped unharmed. “They weren’t wearing helmets,” said Navjeet Singh, the officer in charge of the Cherry County police station.

Singh stated that the BMW driver took the two injured men to a nearby hospital, while a bystander reported the accident to police. Sunil was later referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for treatment, while Kunwar died from his injuries on Monday evening. “The BMW driver covered their medical bills,” he added.

The suspect is a businessman, while the three bike riders ran a spare parts shop in Ithaira village. On Tuesday, the family of deceased Kunwar filed a written complaint against Singh.

“Singh is being held by police.” The car and motorcycle have been impounded. “An FIR has been registered against the suspect at Bisrakh police station under Sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” said Umesh Bahadur Singh, station house officer (SHO), Bisrakh police station.
