Municipal election nominations to begin from tomorrow in Gautam Buddha Nagar, DM-SSP chair administrative meeting!

Nominations for municipal election are slated to start from tomorrow and district administration has completed its preparedness for conducting free and fair elections in the district.

The nominations will start from 1st November and the last day of nomination is 7 November.

Briefing the press of Municipal election preparedness DM BN Singh said, “Webcasting will be of hyper system booths and the booths will be monitored on real time, even by election commission. The district has 1 Municipal corporation, 5 Nagar Panchayat and 84 wards”.

Election commission has been very strict on checking the expenditure limits of the candidates, speaking about which DM B N Singh said, “6 lakh is the expenditure limit for those contesting municipal election and 3 lakh is the election expenditure limit for ward members. We will make sure that any violations in this regard are duly brought to the notice of election commission”.

Gautam Buddha Nagar SSP Love Kumar said, “The regions which are going for elections will be divided into different zones and sectors and necessary steps will be taken to ensure that law and order situation will be maintained. Police is resolute for conducting free and fair elections in the district”.

He further added that district has adequate police force to conduct these elections. Elections in the district will be on 26 November. Major part of Gautam Buddha Nagar district doesn’t falls under any municipal region as they are governed by industrial authorities.
