Greater Noida, October 15, 2023: The 56th edition of the IHGF Delhi Fair, hosted at the India Expo Mart, saw Naresh Bothra, the Managing Director of Bothra International and President of the 56th IHGF Delhi Fair, emphasizing the crucial role of handicraft products in India’s cultural and economic landscape. In an exclusive interview with Ten News, Bothra shed light on the diversity and significance of India’s handicraft industry.

Speaking about the importance of handicrafts in India, Bothra stated, “Handicrafts are the essence of our heritage and play a fundamental role in India’s industrial landscape. We have 14 distinct categories that encompass various forms of craftsmanship, including metal products from Moradabad, glassware from Firozabad, and the second-largest handicraft industry, which revolves around woodwork, hailing from my own city, Jodhpur.”

Bothra International, founded in 1994, has been a pioneering force in the field. Bothra shared, “Our primary focus lies in design and the creation of contemporary artifacts. The designs crafted by us have garnered global acclaim and are cherished around the world.”

When discussing their international reach, Bothra highlighted specific target regions, saying, “Our focus is on European markets, including Denmark, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, South Africa, and the United States, among others.”

The response to the market and the IHGF Delhi Fair has been overwhelmingly positive, surpassing expectations. Bothra expressed his enthusiasm for the future, stating, “The fair’s success has exceeded our initial expectations, and we anticipate even better conditions in the coming years.”

In response to inquiries about the impact of the Palestine conflict on their exports, Bothra emphasized that the impact was relatively minimal. He clarified, “While Israel is closely examining the implications of the Palestine conflict, our exports there constitute less than 1% of our total exports. Only 270 crore rupees are exported from India to Israel, which is less than one percent of the total exports.”

The 56th IHGF Delhi Fair continues to be a testament to India’s rich tradition of handicrafts and the innovation and commitment of businesses like Bothra International. As the fair unfolds, it further solidifies its role as a global platform for showcasing the diversity and creativity of India’s handicraft industry.
