Greater Noida (19 April 2025): The 59th edition of the IHGF Delhi Fair—one of the world’s largest trade shows for home, lifestyle, fashion, furniture, and textiles—was inaugurated with grandeur at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. Organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), the fair was officially opened by Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh, who toured the sprawling exhibition halls and interacted with a diverse array of artisans and exporters from across the country.

This internationally recognized fair, serves as a vibrant showcase of India’s handicraft excellence and a crucial platform for networking between Indian exporters and global buyers. The latest edition has drawn participation from over 3,000 exhibitors, representing every region of India, and is expected to attract more than 5,000 international buyers, reinforcing India’s growing stature in the global handicrafts marketplace.

Speaking exclusively to Ten News Network, NDMC Vice Chairperson Kuljeet Chahal, who visited the fair and attended the awards ceremony on April 19, emphasized the significance of the fair in promoting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This fair is a true embodiment of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047. Under one roof, we see the complete essence of India—from the stalls of Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mumbai to those from Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Badhoi. This fair unites India’s diverse craftsmanship, he said.

He further congratulated Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of the India Expo Centre & Mart and a key architect behind the IHGF Delhi Fair’s success, applauding his unwavering dedication and visionary leadership. Just as Bhagirath brought the Ganga to Earth through his tireless effort, Rakesh Kumar has made a monumental effort to bring together the nation’s exporters under one roof. From organizing one fair in the beginning to now overseeing more than 40 events annually at this venue, his contribution to India’s handicraft sector is commendable, Chahal added.

Highlighting the fair’s scale and global relevance, EPCH Executive Director R. K. Verma shared provisional export figures for the financial year 2024–25, which stand at Rs. 33,490.79 crore (approximately US $3.96 billion). These figures reflect the rising international demand for India’s artisanal products, built on the foundations of creativity, heritage, and sustainable craftsmanship.

Over the years, the IHGF Delhi Fair has grown into a dynamic business platform that not only showcases products across diverse categories—such as home décor, furnishings, textiles, furniture, fashion jewelry, and lifestyle accessories—but also fosters innovation and economic growth. The ongoing edition is expected to further strengthen India’s position as a global leader in handcrafted goods.

With thousands of artisans showcasing their skills and a strong turnout from buyers and stakeholders worldwide, the 59th IHGF Delhi Fair stands as a shining example of India’s cultural richness and its evolving economic potential in the handcrafted export sector.
