New Australian Consulate to be setup in Bengaluru

Brisbane, 24th May 2023: Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi announced that the Australian government is planning to open a Consul-General in Bengaluru this month.

The leader also added that the Indian government will now open a consulate in Brisbane as a part of the efforts between two countries to enhance the ties between the two countries.

The Consul-General would be the fifth diplomatic mission in India, after Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.

The move aims to enhance the connectivity between the two countries and looks to connect the two countries and their businesses to India’s digital and innovation systems.

India on the other hand has three Consulates in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, which makes the one in Brisbane the fourth such mission in the country.
