Citizen Environment Improvement Society (CEIS), a Noida-based NGO, flagged off their campaign against burning of leaves (CABOL) initiative at the DPS Noida premises on Wednesday.

The NGO has already created 20 vermicompost pits to promote organic composting across the city. It has also launched a programme to promote composting in individual homes. The campaign is being supported by Adobe Foundation and Give2Asia (as reported earlier).

“We have already set up 20 vermicompost pits with the help of RWAs, schools and corporate houses. We now want to encourage individuals to learn composting in their backyards. No one should let organic garbage go waste, because, with little skill, we can create such rich compost from it. We are ready to help anyone with knowledge and infrastructure to expand our composting drive,” Amrit Kapur of CEIS said.
