Nine FIRs registered against AAP, four against BJP and one against Congress for defacement of public property: Delhi CEO Ranbir Singh

New Delhi: (25/03/2019) Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ranbir Singh on Monday said as many as nine FIRs have been registered so far against AAP and four against the BJP and one against Congress for defacement of public property ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in the National Capital.



“Till date more than 2 Lakh hoardings/banners/posters are removed in all over Delhi out of which 30533 are removed from New Delhi Municipal Council, 2411 from Delhi Cantonment Board, 60622 from South Delhi Municipal Corporation, 41007 from East Delhi Municipal Corporation and 75937 from North Delhi Municipal Corporation respectively,”
He said.

He further said, “Nine FIRs have been registered against the AAP under the Defacement of Public Property Act. Besides, four FIRs have been filed against the Bharitya Janata Party under the same Act, one has registered against the Congress.”

“Till Date, 169 numbers of unlicensed arms/weapons seized, 2198 numbers of cartidges/explosives/bombs seized. whereas, 3512 licensed arms deposited, 28113 persons have been booked under various sections of CRPC/Delhi Police Act, as preventive action measures,” said Singh.

“Majority of these cases have been registered in the northeast, New Delhi and west districts of Delhi Police,” the CEO added.
