Nitin Gadkari should lead India’s fight against Covid, PMO is useless: Subramanian Swamy
Amid the deepening Covid crisis in the country, the BJPs Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy today bolstered the calls for the resignation of Prime Minister and Health Minister by endorsing Nitin Gadkari as the one who should be leading India’s fight against Covid.
Swamy did not directly attacked the PM, instead he said that relying on Prime Minister Office is useless.
Swamy wrote on Twitter, “India will survive Coronavirus Pandemic as it did Islamic invaders and British Imperialists. We could face one more wave that targets children unless strict precautions now are taken. Modi should therefore delegate the conduct of this war to Gadkari. Relying on PMO is useless.”

When a user suggested that the health minister should be sacked for his inept handling of the pandemic, Swamy disagreed as he wrote, “No No. Harsh Vardhan has not been allowed free hand. But he is too polite to assert his authority. With Gadkari he will bloom.”
Many on Twitter shared similar thoughts and welcomed the idea of Nitin Gadkari taking additional charge of the Health Ministry.
I would favour additional charge to @nitin_gadkari of the Health Ministry

I'm all for Nitin Gadkari taking over the Health Ministry and leading the battle against COVID. The man knows how to help us speedily get from point A to point B.
Meanwhile Dr. Harsh Vardhan can take over building highways, and construct a few speed-breakers.— Ramesh Srivats (@rameshsrivats) May 5, 2021

The central government has been under fire on this social media platform for doing “too little, too late” in fight against the deadly virus.
