Noida: 7-month old mauled to death by stray dog, sparks outrage
Noida, 18th October, 2022: A 7-month-old infant died in Noida after being bitten by a stray dog in Lotus Boulevard society in Sector 100 At 11 p.m. on Monday.
According to Gautam Budh Nagar Police, the child was taken to Reality Hospital Sector-110 for treatment, but he died late at night due to his injuries. Doctors said the child was in critical condition since his intestines were pulled out during the attack.
The incident sparked outrage among the residents of the society who staged a protest and blocked roads on Tuesday.
Indu Prakash, OSD at Noida Authority stated that the civic body would build four shelter homes for stray dogs following the incident.
“We started sterilising stray dogs in 2017, and to date, 40,000 dogs have been sterilized, We will build dog shelters in the same way that we have built cow shelters,” he added.
The president of the Noida Federation of Apartment Owners Association, Rajiva Singh, stated that the Noida authorities should take accountability for such incidents. He urged the authorities to compensate the family.
