Noida Authority’s ambitious project of Compost Machines for RWA’s faces stinking roadblock
Noida Authority in its budget for this year had made provisions of allotting subsidized compost machines to different RWA’s. Months after this invitation nothing could materialize on the ground, depsite various RWA’s showing interest in the same. The problem that RWA’s are facing is of where to install these compost machine within the sectors.
A well-intention plan faces problem of location:
Authority officials reached out to different RWA’s and involved umbrella body of Noida RWA”s FONRWA to find some takers. After an initial meeting with Noida CEO, 10 RWA’s expressed interest in taking up the project.
However a practical problem that is restricting any such project to be adopted by RWA’s is of finding a suitable place for the same within sector.
Office bearers from different sectors claim that Noida sectors are densely populated and there is problem in finding any place that can have necessary isolation required for installing a compost machine. It is pretty obvious that Garbage Compost Machine would fill the area with foul-smell hence no one in the sector want any such machine to be installed anywhere near their place.
With this practical problem of a feasible spot within the sectors, Noida Authorities ambitious project of disposing garbage within the sectors has hit a road block for now. Efforts are still on to sort out this issue and to ensure that biodegradable waste can be treated at the source itself.
It is being expected that if subsidized Compost Machine’s find no takers from RWA’s, the facility might be extended to NGO’s as well. However their is no official confirmation regarding the same as of yet.
