Noida based CGST inspector held for sending abusive messages

Noida, 25th September, 2022: Gautam Budh Nagar police detained a CGST (Central Goods and Service Tax) inspector on Friday for reportedly sending abusive messages to a senior official.

According to authorities, the suspect works as an inspector at the Central goods and service Tax audit unit in Noida and had been on the run since the case was filed but was detained on Friday by police.

“On Monday, a deputy commissioner with CGST (Noida unit) and resident of Sector 121 lodged an FIR at the Phase-3 police station reporting that her subordinate in office sent her menacing and obscene WhatsApp messages.” She also mentioned in her complaint that he threatened to murder her.

“She has stated that she has no idea why he sent such messages or threatened her,” said Rambadan Singh, deputy commissioner of police in Central Noida.

“A case has been brought against the suspect under Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to incite disturbance of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509(b) (sexual harassment by electronic method) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on the complaint.” DCP Singh stated.

According to authorities, the officer has urged the police to take strict measures against him in the report.
