Noida to get indoor stadium with facilities for various sports

Noida: Sports enthusiasts and budding players would no longer be required to travel long distance for practice as Noida Authority has geared up to complete the remaining work of an indoor stadium which is expected to finish soon.

The concerned officer has been directed by Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority to complete the work within a stipulated period of three months.

Her direction is an outcome of review meeting held recently (on January 7) at the administrative building of the authority. She instructed the officer concerned that the remaining development should be carried out on war footing to make it ready by April.

The construction work of new stadium, which is located in Sector 21, was started in February 2015. It was to be completed within a period of one year. But it got delayed by several years.

The stadium is being developed in an area of 3,700 square meters. The size of the area is estimated to be around 56.5m x 43.5m with a 1.5 meter wide safe space around it. It would be having a capacity to accommodate 4,000 spectators.
