Noida’s Wi-fi Future
We, at the Wave Group, are spending a lot of time thinking about what makes cities better for all the key stakeholders including residents, regulatory bodies, law and order institutions etc. This becomes more important for us at Wave since we are developing several large projects like Wave City Center and Wave City, which spreads out over 9000 acres – almost 20 per cent of the size of Noida.
We are very encouraged to hear that Noida will be joining a select group of cities worldwide with WiFi Internet access across the city. Treating the internet as a utility that should be available to all residents on par with water or electricity will help improve the lives of all the people of Noida. Investing in infrastructure always has a multiplier effect on the economic development of cities, much like how Noida’s preplanned roads and sectors helped bring in an a number industries and residents over the past 20 years. The WiFi enablement will also go in a long way in establishing the city.
The internet is an amazing tool that helps enable citizens, businesses and visitors and spurs growth and development. For the residents of Noida, it would mean being always connected to the information superhighway and accessing the internet on the go within the city limits. Businesses will be able to setup their facilities quickly and at a lower cost, and offer tailored options to locals. Visitors to Noida, whether for work or pleasure, will have the convenience of connectivity when they most need it, and be able to find information about unfamiliar neighborhoods.
The city will also be able to provide the residents and businesses with better services, more efficiently and at lower costs. There will also be many additional e-governance services that the city will be able to provide for the residents that make use of this new network. We look forward to Noida becoming one of the first Smart Cities in the country and this is a welcome step in that direction
