Oath-Taking Ceremony Organized by District Administration under “Drug-Free India Campaign” at Galgotias University

On Monday, District Administration organized Oath-Taking Ceremony under “Drug-Free India Campaign” at Galgotias University.

On this occasion, the Chief Development Officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar District Administration,  Janardan Singh, stated that children are naturally curious, and their minds are easily attracted to negative influences. As a result, they often fall prey to deadly addictions like drug abuse. Therefore, parents, guardians, and teachers must closely monitor all aspects of their activities to ensure that children do not get trapped in the vicious cycle of addiction. Instead, they should focus on enriching and fulfilling their lives.

Mr. Satish Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar, expressed his pleasure in interacting with the students of the university. He was particularly impressed by the discipline maintained at the university. He described the students as highly talented and encouraged them to uphold the pledge they took today to make India drug-free for the rest of their lives. He emphasized that only by doing so can they contribute to building a better society and a stronger nation.

In an online address, Mr. Ramdas Bandu Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in the Government of India, urged the country’s youth to take the lead in making this mission successful. He emphasized that youth are the backbone of the nation, and a team of such dedicated young people should be formed that can transform the entire landscape of the country. He envisioned a future where India would be completely free from drugs, bringing glory to Mother India across the world.

Today, the Vice-Chancellor of Galgotias University, Prof. Dr. K. Mallikharjuna Babu, addressed the students and highlighted the adverse impact of drug addiction on the lives of young people. He stressed the urgent need for the youth to stay away from such harmful habits. He urged the students to uphold the pledge they took today to stay away from drugs for the rest of their lives, no matter what challenges they face. He also encouraged them to regularly practice great disciplines like yoga and pranayama to maintain a drug-free life. He ended his talk with his good wishes.
