Over 32 lakh people tested for Covid in Uttar Pradesh so far, state’s fatality toll reaches 2120

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 10, 2020: With over 91 thousand people being tested for Covid-19 on Sunday, the testing figure of Uttar Pradesh has reached over 32 lakh.

Uttar Pradesh Principal Health Secretary Amit Mohan Prasad on August 10 informed about the current status of the state on COVID-19 and said, “Yesterday we tested 91,020 samples in the state. So far, 32,09, 857 tests have been conducted in the state for Covid-19.”

He also informed that 76,724 people have been discharged from the hospitals after recovering from the disease, whereas, 2120 people have died due to Covid-19 in the state.
Prasad also outlined the contribution of Aarogya Setu app in keeping track of migrants in the state, who have returned from hotspot areas elsewhere.
“We have conducted a surveillance of 1,65,11,267 houses, in which there are 8,31,19,407 people are living. Through Arogya Setu alert feature, we have cllaed 7,83,503 people from the state headquarters,” he added.

Meanwhile, in Gautam Buddha Nagar disitrict, 77 new patients tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday. There have been 43 deaths due to this disease here and there are 929 active patients, after 85 were discharged yesterday.
