Panel constituted to oversee waste management project

Noida and Greater Noida authorities constituted an expert panel on Thursday to implement a joint project for municipal solid waste (MSW) management in the twin cities. The project is being designed with the target of handling approximately 650 metric tonnes of solid waste in the cities on a daily basis.

According to officials, the MSW project will be executed as a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The committee will plan, design and implement the project in Noida and Greater Noida. The authorities have sought the assistance of IIT-Roorkee to handle technical aspects of the project. The panel will be headed by Noida Authority DCEO, Akhilesh Singh
