Parents demand roll back of school fee hike
Gurgaon: Protests against the “unjustified” fee hike by private schools continued for the second week on Sunday.
As as many as 350 parents of students of different city schools gathered at Leisure Valley Park in the morning, demanding a roll back of the annual tuition fee hike.
“There was a hike of 15-17% this academic session, after our protests the school rolled back 2%. However, we are demanding a total roll back because we do not find any hike justified,” said one of the parents at the Leisure Valley Park demonstration.
The parents said they had got together to devise their future strategy to battle the ever-increasing school fee and plan to approach district education officials and obtain Form 6 that has the fee details and financials of the school. The parents will then approach the Fee and Fund Regulatory Committee, demanding a fee audit if they find any irregularities in the form.
