PMO asks ministries to identify schemes for completion in 100 days

Seeking to show something on the ground within 100 days of coming to power, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has asked various ministries and departments to submit at least 10 “people-centric” works or schemes of their respective ministries, which can be completed during the period.

Sources said the ministries have been asked to identify such schemes quickly so that decisions can be taken fast to put those plans on the ground. “Since people have voted BJP to power with high hopes, the government seems to be prioritizing to deliver something within months of forming government. This will also create pressure on departments to be more sensitive towards people’s concerns than just taking administrative decisions,” said a government official.
