POP RECRUIT CONSTABLES BATCH NO.107 AND 108 ON 28.04.17

Today on 28th April 2017, the Passing out Parade of 107th (Male) and 108th (Female) batches of Recruit Constables was held at Police Training College, Jharoda Kalan New Delhi. They took the oath in a colourful ceremonial parade after successfully completing their basic training. Sh.Kiren Rijiju Union Minister of State for Home Affairs of India took the salute of the marching contingents. The parade was attended by Sh. Amulya Patnaik, Commissioner of Police, Delhi and other senior officers of Delhi Police.

This batch will augment the trained manpower of Delhi Police. 964 constables including 202 women showcase India’s unity in diversity as 433 constables including 134 women are from North East, 105 constables of Daman and Diu Police. This inclusion should help Delhi Police in capturing benefits of work place diversity. During long & hard training they were trained to learn skills required for their profession. They have been trained in Law, Police Science, Criminology, Computer Application, Cyber Crime and Human Rights with emphasis on professionalism, discipline & good behavior. For effective community policing they have been sensitized on gender issues, Crime against women, children & senior citizens. With special emphasis on safety and security of women, all the women Constables have been trained in U.A.C & Commando. In outdoor training, they are trained in handling of weapons, vehicle driving, firing practice. They are trained to use the latest weapons.

After witnessing their splendor march past, Chief Guest gave away the ‘All Round Best’trophy to W/Ct. ChiewelouThele. In his address, Chief Guest acknowledged the working challenges in the Delhi Police. He appreciated that the team works within limited resources to cater to the growing demand of one of the biggest cities of the world. He felt that the pan Indian composition of the team would now enable the force to appreciate and be sensitized towards the diverse population that the city has. This he said can be enabled only through discipline. He also highly appreciated the march past. He advised them to be true professional Police Officers and encouraged them to come forward and accept the challenges of policing the capital in a better way. He was happy to know that these constables have been trained in counter terrorism techniques, cybercrime, unarmed Combat etc. He further hoped that they will certainly meet with the expectations. Police & Security forces are burdened with great responsibilities. Delhi Police is the best police in the country which should be maintained. He further advised that police officers should be sensitive to the security needs of women. We should protect the poor and weaker section of society.

Commissioner of Police, Delhi congratulated them for completion of their training successfully and opened his address by reaffirming his support & confidence in the Recruit constables and thanked the PTC staff who ensured successful comprehensive training. In his welcome address he drew attention to the approach adopted and some key measures taken to enhance the effectiveness of the training which in turn would be visible in field duty. He said that the constables are expected to do their job with distinction, despite the challenges they face. He affirmed that unbiased service to the public helps in building trust. He added that the uptick in crime and its nature makes it imperative for the police force to be updated, up skilled in latest technology along with physical and mental agility. He hoped that they would always remain ahead of time by improving their professional skills from time to time to serve the public with more humanitarian approach. Apart from functional knowledge he laid importance on soft skills so as to effectively meet responsibility towards the children, women, senior citizens, disillusioned youth and other needy sections.
