Press statement issued by BJP National Spokesperson, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman

Galgotias Ad

Today marks the end of the 4th phase of the elections to the 16th Lok Sabha. Steadily with each phase of the election getting completed, the turnout at the polling booths reinforces the prevailing public perception that the people of India are coming out for a change in government. In addition people of India have started viewing the BJP led NDA which now has 25 political parties all standing for a Congress Mukta Bharat.
The BJP came up with a manifesto 2014 which placed importance for jobs & job creation. It marked issues which need urgent and immediate attention to restore the confidence in the Indian Economy and to reduce the burden on the shoulders of the Indian citizen. Shri Modi has highlighted periodically on the three ‘D’s – Demographic Dividend, Democracy and Demand. For example he has emphasized on Congress’ poverty tourism as opposed to BJP’s idea of promote tourism to remove poverty. Fine tuning this idea to suit region the 2T idea was emphasized in Darjeeling – Tea & Tourism. The BJP is also talking of building 100 urban centres building on the satellite town & twin cities. There and many more. Thus the BJP is speaking of providing a positive and contractive alternative.
Whereas, the ruling Congress party as India reaches mid-stream in this polling season is rattled. It stands exposed with no answers to any of the question being raised by the BJP. Hence they have resorted personalised attack on Shri Narendra Modi where no issue exists.
With this background even as the election is on going, a book written by Shri Sanjay Baru has raised important issues. All of these need answers; answers particularly from Smt. Sonia Gandhi. We raise here 5 questions, which are important on :
1. Where cabinet files shared with Smt. Sonia Gandhi as is mentioned in the book?
2. Was any deal on Siachen finalised by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, along with Gen. J.J. Singh?
3. For the PM to answer : Did the PM refuse to take daily briefings from the Intelligence agencies, the first PM to do so, if at all. Did this not have a bearing on our security situation.
4. Did the PM forfeit his prerogative to decide on who would be in his cabinet. Was the ‘2G frame’ A. Raja appointed at the behest of Smt. Sonia Gandhi?
5. Did the PM knowingly overlook corruption by his colleagues as alleged in the book. 2G, CWG and Coalgate happened because of this?
Conclusion :-
The BJP draws the attention of the Congress party to introspect on these issues. They need to answer the people of India on their failures in the past decade. The questions raised on failure to control prices, provide jobs, manage the economy etc. A constrictive and issue based political discourse is the need of the hour. People of India need answer from the Congress.
