Since its inception, DPS Greater Noida has played a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of Greater Noida, a city that has seen significant development alongside the school’s growth. Principal Awasthi expressed immense pride in the school’s contributions to raising educational standards in the region. She added, We are incredibly proud of our continuous achievements, such as producing three consecutive years of board toppers. This is a testament to the quality of education we provide. Our students have gone on to prestigious institutions like IITs, Delhi University, and top medical colleges. Last year, 12 of our students were accepted into medical colleges. Our school is home to over 5000 students, and each of them is a part of our shared success.

National Education Policy (NEP) Implementation at DPS Greater Noida

Principal Awasthi also shared insights into the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) at DPS Greater Noida. We have been proactive in embracing the NEP, especially in our early years program. Our curriculum for students from nursery to grade 2 is designed to meet the NEP’s requirements while also incorporating the Montessori approach. We believe in offering the best educational practices and have even traveled abroad to observe other schools to bring back new ideas to implement in our own classrooms, she stated. This global exposure reflects the school’s commitment to offering the best possible education for its students.

Response to the CBSE 10th Double Board Exams Draft Policy

Regarding the recent draft policy on CBSE 10th double board exams, Principal Awasthi expressed strong support. I believe that any initiative introduced by CBSE should be supported as it benefits the students. Multiple chances for assessment will enable students to perform better and bring out their best qualities. As a school head, I wholeheartedly welcome this progressive move, she said.

CBSE Academic Guidance and Support

When asked about CBSE’s academic guidance and support, she affirmed that the school consistently provides these resources to its students. CBSE’s guidance is invaluable, and we ensure that we offer the same academic support to our students, helping them reach their full potential, she added.

Top Achievers at DPS Greater Noida

Principal Awasthi took great pride in sharing the success stories of some of the school’s top achievers. Last week, Priyanshu Chamoli, a student of our school, represented IIT Delhi. He not only scored an outstanding percentage in his grade 12 exams but also secured a top position in the ‘Fastest Fingers First’ competition. He is now studying at IIT Delhi. Another remarkable student, Amok Srivastava, has gone to IIT Bombay, along with 13 other students who secured spots in IITs. Additionally, 13 students from our school cracked NEET and are now studying in medical colleges. Our students also excel in humanities, with some studying at top Delhi colleges like LSR, she shared. Principal Awasthi highlighted the school’s commitment to meeting the aspirations of each child. We have a program called Project 75, which ensures that no student in our grade secures less than 75%. This initiative aligns with our belief that every child should succeed and move closer to their goals, she added.

The school’s state-of-the-art campus, which is 27 years old but remains in pristine condition, is another highlight. We pay close attention to every corner of the school, whether it’s the walking galleries or the museums that are open for children. Our campus is designed to be a learning aid, motivating students to learn independently and creatively, even without teacher intervention, said Principal Awasthi. She emphasized that DPS Greater Noida is not only about academic success but also about creating a happy and respectful environment for everyone in the school community.

A Message to the Parents of Greater Noida

Principal Awasthi also took a moment to address the parents of Greater Noida. I am always touched by the commitment of our parents, and I make it a point to respond to their concerns within the day. We understand that parenting can be challenging, especially in today’s fast-paced world, and I am always available to offer guidance and support, she said. She also shared how DPS Greater Noida supported students and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing scholarships to children who lost their parents due to the virus.

Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Principal Awasthi shared her vision for DPS Greater Noida in the next 5 to 10 years. In the next decade, we will continue to lead not only in academics but also in social-emotional learning. Our goal is to shape students who will not only excel as doctors, engineers, or teachers but also as compassionate human beings. We believe that the children of today will contribute significantly to the development of Greater Noida, making it a better place for all, she said confidently.

Role in the DPS Society

Principal Awasthi also highlighted DPS Greater Noida’s role within the larger DPS Society, which includes over 220 schools across India and abroad. DPS Greater Noida is among the top-performing schools in the DPS Society, whether it is in North, South, or West India. Our school is leading in academic excellence, and the DPS Society’s HRD Centre plays a pivotal role in training educators to create a learning environment that prepares students for the 21st century, she explained.
