New Delhi: Today, Maharashtra politician Ramdas Athawale held a press conference in New Delhi to voice his views on NCP Chief Sharad Pawar’s comments about the 2019 elections.

Nationalist Congress Party or NCP Chief Sharad Pawar said yesterday that if the central government was “effective”, there would not have been bribery charges at the highest level in the CBI. Pawar asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to act swiftly over the matter.

He also attacked the BJP-led government at the Centre over the Rafale Deal and demanded an investigation by a joint parliamentary committee over the issue.

Pawar claimed that PM Modi was a strong leader for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but not a strong leader for the country.

“Modi’s ministerial team does not have the capacity to deliver. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is the most powerful. All decisions are taken there and the files are sent to the ministers to sign. The present government does only ‘mann ki baat’ and does not listen to ‘jan ki baat’ (people’s voice),” he added.

Slamming Sharad Pawar on his Anti-BJP Comment, Athawale today said that,

“BJP and Shiv Sena are the two major parties in Maharashtra. If they come together in 2019’s elections in Maharashtra, it would not be hard to believe that they win. RPI also has a major part of voters as their followers. Although, it is not tough for BJP to win the coming elections without any party partnering with it, but still if it is needed, RPI will dedicate all its votes for BJP.

Sharad Pawar’s comments and words are something that are not going to happen anyway. And his thoughts on the Rafale deal scam, is something that the government is already looking into, so re-speaking about it will not affect the BJP in any way.”
