Renowned artists showcase their work at Art Exhibition curated by DLF Mall of India

New Delhi: Ahead of Republic Day celebrations, DLF Mall of India has curated an exhibition ‘Arth – Tributes to Shades of India’ that celebrates the surreal world of art created by Indian artists from across the country – North, South, West and East. The exhibit aims at providing a platform to traditional and contemporary artists to showcase their work and building a community for art enthusiasts.

The aesthetic sense, creative power and artistic quality of Indian culture, heritage is manifested in the exhibition. Works of art in watercolour, acrylic and abstract besides sculptures will be on display depicting the diverse land of India with varying perspectives such as a monochromatic cityscapes of the vintage city- Kolkata, a lively painting of ‘The Ghats of Varanasi’ and much more.

Some of the celebrated artists such as Arpan Bhowmik, Niladri Paul, Pintu Sikder, A. Viswam, and Sandeep Chattraband among others are participating in the art show. The décor of the exhibit is made from organic products to promote sustainability. On the first day of the exhibition,a one hour master class was also organized by artist Arpan Bhowmik. During his master class, he painted a painting live in front of the audience and took them on the journey of art.

A. Vishvam, a Chennai-based contemporary Indian artist and a national award winner, who was trained in the Madras College of Arts interacted with Ten News and explained abstract besides sculptures as it is not easy to understand by everyone. He said, “Abstract art uses visual language of shape, form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world.”
