Rotary Club of Delhi Premier Conducts HPV Vaccination Campaign at Metro College, Greater Noida

Greater Noida News (07/05/2026): A large-scale HPV vaccination drive was organised at Metro College of Health Sciences and Research on May 5, 2026, through a joint initiative of Rotary Club of Delhi Premier and Metro College of Nursing. The campaign focused on spreading awareness about cervical cancer prevention and promoting early immunisation among adolescent girls.

The vaccination programme was conducted in alignment with the nationwide cervical cancer awareness initiative supported by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Organisers stated that all required approvals were obtained from the District Magistrate Office, Chief Medical Officer Office and District Inspector of Schools Office before the event was carried out in accordance with prescribed government health guidelines and safety protocols.

The initiative was held under the leadership of Dr. Sonia Lal Gupta, Managing Director of the institution. Academic and administrative guidance for the programme was provided by Dr. Kanak Lata, Director Education, along with support from Dr. Praveen Kumar Gaur, Director Campus, Dr. Prachi Awasthi, Principal of the College of Nursing, Prof. Muzaffar Makrani, Dean Academic, Mr. Prashant Thakur, Vice Principal, and Mr. Ishwar Pathania, Vice Principal of the Paramedical Department. Faculty members, healthcare professionals and trained nursing teams actively participated in the smooth execution of the vaccination campaign.

During the drive, nearly 150 adolescent girls from various schools across Noida received the HPV vaccine after submission of parental consent forms. The programme aimed to educate students and parents about HPV-related diseases and the importance of preventive healthcare through timely vaccination.

Officials associated with the campaign highlighted that the initiative not only contributed to public health awareness but also offered nursing students practical exposure in community healthcare services, immunisation procedures and patient coordination during mass vaccination programmes.

Rotary International, through its Delhi Premier chapter, has been actively involved in humanitarian and healthcare initiatives across the Delhi-NCR region. The club is recognised for undertaking impactful social welfare projects and is part of Rotary International’s global network of more than 45,000 clubs worldwide. The organisation has also received international recognition, including the prestigious Programs of Scale Grant in 2024, for its community-focused initiatives.

The management of Metro College of Nursing expressed gratitude to Rotary Club of Delhi Premier, healthcare teams, school authorities, parents and participating students for their cooperation and support in making the vaccination drive successful.
