These are very exciting times for the home textile industry as the demands have shot up, both in India as well as abroad. India has huge domestic market of textiles. If we are to look at the data for this year – we have a very ambitious target of merchandise export of $ 400 Bn USD out of which our share is supposed to be $ 44 Bn USD including handicrafts and textiles. The government is planning a lot of new initiatives. The cabinet has approved two new schemes in the last months which we feel are going to be the game changer for the textile industry as a whole. One is the PLI for textile and the second one is the mega textile park. We will be setting up 7 mega textile parks with world class infrastructure and facilities in the first phase. We are strong in our value chains; we are strong in natural and man-made fiber as well as spinning. The world is looking at sustainability as far as the textile industry is concerned. I wish all the very best to HGH India in the endeavor to help the industry in gaining stability.”
