Sector 18 Market Association meets administration, demands strict measures in-lieu of parking attendant case!

On 12th November a painful incident took place when parking attendant driving a car ran over a pregnant woman in Sector 18, when the woman and her husband were returning to their car after shopping in the market.
As the accident took place in city’s biggest commercial hub — Sector 18 — exposed the indifference of the Noida officials who allegedly do not enforce rules properly. After investigation it also came to light that contractor allegedly hired the attendant who did not have a driving licence and is ineligible, as per the norms. Complaints of parking visitors regarding Overcharging, misbehaviour and violation of norms by parking attendants and contractors are common in the region as per regular customers.

As the incident became the headline of the newspapers, anger in public also erupted all over the country over the ghastly incident. Taking concern of the incident and to ensure that in future incident like this not get repeated Sushil Kumar Jain President Sector 18 Market Association Noida had a meeting with S P city Noida, City magistrate Noida , DSP Noida, SO sector 20 Noida and Chauki incharge, Parking supervisors and members from Sector 18 Market Association including Sudhir Singhal , Rajender Verma, Anita ,Varun Khera, Rahul, Kuldeep Gupta and others on 14 November at sector 18 Police station.

In the meeting matters like installation of CCTV cameras in the parking lot was discussed and it was demanded that a list of camera locations must be hand over to association members. Regarding parking it has been decided that only single lane parking will be allowed in market, Rates of parking , police verification of parking attendants by area police in charge , removal of auto and E-rikshaw parking from sector 18 Metro Station , All illegal vendors to be removed, to initiate legal case against Parking contractor were also raised and all members agreed to following measures.

The officials said that now they will come up with the new policy and most of the issues that are discussed in the meeting and faced by the visitors will be addressed .
