New Delhi : Eminent Sikh leader Manjit Singh and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee president Manjinder Singh Sirsa warned the Congress against giving ticket to 1984 anti-Sikh riot accused Sajjan Kumar’s brother Ramesh Kumar from the South Delhi constituency.

Hundreds of Sikh community members today gathered at the doors of All India Congress Committee and performed massive protest. They also burnt the dummy of Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

Sajjan Kumar was the main person behind riots that broke out after the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards on October 31, 1984.

Kumar is currently lodged in Tihar jail after conviction in another case related to the riots.

Speaking to Ten News, members of Akali Dal share their aggression for Sajjan’s brother. One member said, “We are not going to stop protesting against a person who belongs to a family of bad people. Congress is making him field from Delhi is something that is totally unbearable for us.”
