States ready battery of lawyers to back NJAC

After the Centre’s stout defence of National Judicial Appointments Commission in the Supreme Court, various states are now set to advance their arguments in support of the body that replaced the collegium system of appointment of judges.

A battery of senior lawyers and constitutional experts will argue on behalf of the states after attorney general Mukul Rohatgi strongly put forth the Centre’s views justifying the setting of the NJAC over five days.
