Stop the Shahi Imam Syed Mohammad Bukhari of Jama Masjit from making any appeal in favor of Congress party : Delhi BJP

New Delhi 4th April : In a Press statement today, Chairman of Delhi BJP Loksabha Election Management and Campaign Committee Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra has appealed to the Election Commission that it should stop the Shahi Imam Syed Mohammad Bukhari of Jama Masjit from making any appeal in favor of Congress party from the premises of Jama Masjid.

Prof. Malhotra said that appealing for votes form any religious place such as Temple, Gurudwara, Church, Masjid etc. or using them for election campaign is violation of Model Code of Conduct.

Prof. Malhotra told that apprehensive of greatest defeat in history, the President of Congress party is taking the shelter of Imam of Jama Masjid which is communal act.

Smt. Sonia Gandhi’s statement that the Muslim Dharm Guru should not allow division of secular votes is highly objectionable and attempt to play muslim card. Congress party has not any effective muslim leaders hence it is bowing down before communal persons such as Imam. Prof. Malhotra has appealed to all nationalist muslims that they should not listen to the appeal of Imam and make the BJP victorious.
