Students of NDMC Schools participated in the historic experience of Indians joining the proud galaxy of nations exploring the planet Mars.

While watching the live telecast on Doordarshan on 24th September 2014, 8 AM onwards, students of class 9th to 12th were jubilant and inspired enough to write letters to the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) Chief, Shri Radha Krishnan.  Letters have been forwarded to the ISRO Chief, by the Chairperson NDMC, whereby, children are expressing their happiness and pride in the entire team of Scientists working with the ISRO Chief.

It is worth mentioning that in one of the letters a student, Harsh Sharma of N P Co-ed Sr. Secondary School, Narouji Nagar writes “ISRO will be soon ahead of NASA”.  The subject of the letter reads “Thank you for making my country proud”.  Another child has mentioned that the time lag of 20 minutes in the radio signals to indicate if the project was successful or not required immense patience on the part of the Scientists and this patience was exemplary.

There was no doubt in the fact that the world would be a better place if there were only children around.  We the adult community perhaps need to let children guide us, and certainly the child in our hearts to guide us everyday.

Kavya Goswami, another student of N P Sr. Secondary Bengali School has beautifully written, “all the world believes in finding solutions through war”, but we are different for its through “love and peace” that we try to explore life!
