Sunday becomes Funday with Raahgiri for the people of Noida

Noida, (24/3/2019): Raahgiri Day is a weekly road event in Noida which happens on every Sunday. With a strong backing from the local administration of Noida and Traffic Police, the streets identified for Raahgiri day is cordoned off on that day for non motorized transport users between 7 am and 10 am.

Today Raahgiri day is organized in sector 7x of Noida. It is being organized for second time here in this sector. Comparing to the last time Raahgiri is organized, people today come in large numbers and enjoyed the morning with various energetic activities like dancing, zumba, sports, paintings etc.

Children and adults are invited to bike, skate, run and walk; to partake in community leisure activities such as street games, street dancing; to learn yoga, aerobics and zumba, for which stages were setup at intervals along the route and to come together as a community and celebrate life.

Noida Authority also create awareness among the people through SVEEP and urges people to enjoy their right to vote in the upcoming elections.

Ten News team talked to women participating in the Raahgiri and asked them about the initiative taken by the Noida Authority, to which they replied, “that this initiative is an amazing step towards making Noida a happening city. We are very happy that our sector is being selected for this activity. Most people on Sunday wakes up late but with Raahgiri, people doesn’t seem to care about waking up early and coming here to enjoy because of the atmosphere and the energy we got here. We wish that these types of initiatives can make Noida a better city”.

Next Sunday, Raahgiri day will be organized at Sector 137 in Noida, to reach all the residents of the city.
