Surcharge On Electricity Dues Waived, 24*7 Power In UP by 2018

Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday too a major decision to waive-off all surcharge from electricity dues in the state. 

UP government also signed an agreement with Union government to ensure 24*7 power to all by October, 2018.

The MoU for the same would be signed between Power Minister Piyush Goyal and CM Yogi Adityanath. 


Both of these major decisions were taken in second cabinet meeting of newly formed UP government on Tuesday. 

According to Energy Minister of UP Shrikant Sharma, surcharge waiver would cost the state about 3,500 crore rupees. The decision has been taken to ensure fast recovery of the dues.
