Shiv Nadar University is all geared up to host second edition of TEDx on coming Sunday. The big banners announcing the date of this grand event hang from the alleys of the administrative blocks as the auditorium gets ready to host amazing speakers from all over the country.
Few days before the event, Ten News spoke to some core members of the organizing committee. The members spoke about the concept behind TEDx, the speaker line-up of this edition, the administrative difficulties as well as the impact of TEDx on the audience.
“Houston, this is TEDxShivNadarUniversity. TeamIndus and their rover, ECA have landed. All telemetry functioning as intended.”
When Google announced its Lunar XPrize competition (read about it here: //lunar.xprize.org/), the high-flying team at TeamIndus took it upon their shoulders to represent the world’s largest democracy in this unique race to space. This team of professionals from various backgrounds in science, technology, finance and media is the only Indian team in the final 5 attempting to win the Google Lunar X Prize mission.
Their mission: to launch from Sriharikota by the end of 2017, and traverse at least 500 metres on the lunar surface and transmit back high definition imagery data, following a successful soft landing on Mare Imbrium.
With a vision as grand as that of SpaceX and roots as Indian as the ISRO’s, TeamIndus’ mission is truly a celebration of all things great about India – the audacious goal, the young bright engineers, the can-do entrepreneurial spirit, partners who commit their resources, and the new breed of world-class entrepreneurs who have supported our mission – all of whom are united by a vision to deliver a best-in-class technology outcome entirely out of India.
The team at TEDxShivNadarUniversity couldn’t be any prouder to host Karan Vaish, the chief systems engineer for the TeamIndus Lunar Rover – ECA, and his creation, the rover ECA itself on the TEDxShivNadarUniversity stage. On 12th November, watch Karan unveil ECA live on the TEDxShivNadarUniversity stage!
