Teej celebrated at DLF Gardencity

To mark the auspicious occasion of Teej, a colorful ‘Teej Fest’ was organized at DLF Gardencity on 6th August. The event was held at their residential complex- New Town Heights in Sector 90, Gurgaon.

The celebrations began in the evening with lot of fervor and gaiety.Amongst the major attractions was ‘Teej Queen’ contest for which the dress code was Indian ethnic wear. Cheered by their families and friends, women walked the ramp with aplomb. Dr. Asha Yadav won the coveted title of ‘Teej Queen’.

Another competition that saw enthusiastic participation was Rangoli- making. Two teams from each condominium made intricate designs using flowers, gulal and bangles.Women danced gracefully and sang traditional teej songs which added a melodious note to the fest.

Residents turned up in large numbers to participate in the festival that marks the arrival of monsoon. People of all age groups were seen enjoying the beautifully decorated swings especially installed for the occasion.

Ms. Nidhi Agarwal, an excited resident of DLF Gardencity said, ‘We are delighted that Teej Fest was held at DLF Gardencity. It was truly wonderful to celebrate the auspicious festival with our neighbours as well as other residents. Scrumptious food and games like musical chairs made the evening memorable for everyone’.

Speaking on the Teej Fest,Col. Tejbir Singh, AVP (Township), DLF said ‘It has always been our endeavor to organize cultural programs at ourtownship DLF Gardencity. We believe festivals are a medium to connect with our rich culture, traditions and heritage.It was very heartening to see residents participating with great fervour and enthusiasm’.
