Telangana, August 23, 2022: Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar was detained by police on Tuesday morning while protesting in Jangaon against the arrest of his fellow party members.
Sanjay had called for a protest after cases were filed against BJP activists for protesting in front of MLC K Kavita’s residence on Monday.
The BJP Chief questioned the cases filed against BJP members for alleged attempts of murder as they protested against Kavita’s alleged role in the irregularities of the Delhi Excise Policy.
It was reported that Sanjay had planned for the protest to be held after Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Telangana was completed.
Sanjay received a lot of criticism on Monday when he held Amit Shah’s shoes, but he released a statement saying that there is nothing wrong with touching the feet of his guru and that it was his show of respect to Shah.
According to the police, they had taken Sanjay into custody before the protests would become violent and the law and order situation would deteriorate.
