Thousands of youths pays tribute to Ummer Fayaz at India Gate

In memory of army officer Ummer Fayaz, hundreds of army veterans, students and tourists took out a candle light march organised by Flags of Honour Foundation (MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar initiative) at India Gate in New Delhi on Saturday evening.
Lt Fayaz, 22, was abducted and found dead on Wednesday morning in Shopian district where he had gone to attend a marriage ceremony of a relative. The incident sparked outrage in the country with the Army vowing to punish his killers.
Participants of the march said that, there are patriotic Muslims in Kashmir who don’t want Pakistan or separation but India. Unfortunately their mouths are being gagged. Ummer was a brilliant child and wanted to be a big army officer.
The candlelight march started at 7pm at the India Gate as people started coming out to pay their tributes to the hero. As per the media reports, thousands of youth gathered at the India Gate.
Lieutenant General (Retired) VK Chaturvedi, who participated in the event, said the country has lost a role model.

BJP leader Ram Madhav, who was the point person for the BJP-PDP alliance, said, “People understand that these militants are loyal to no one and they kill their own people in the most dastardly and brutal ways. This is an act of absolute cowardice and I condemn it.
