Three held for robbing lady after offering an auto ride in Noida

On Monday three men were held by Greater Noida Police while checking vehicles at a check post near Kheda Chauganpur roundabout around 11.50pm.  The arrest was made in a incident of  allegedly abduction of a private firm employee of HR department and robbing her of Rs 10,000 and her mobile phone on December 21.

All three arrested accused later identified as Rohit and Titu alias Jaykant, residents of Meerut and Sarfuddin, and a resident of Dadri. All looted item is recovered from them along with two country made gun and 6 alive cartridges.

During police interrogation they revealed that a 25-year old woman joined them in an auto-rickshaw from Sector 37, Noida as she was returning home after work.

Within a few minutes, the three men tied her hands, gagged her and took her to various ATM to make her withdraw money. However, they were unable to do so because too many people were around.

During the ride, the trio kept beating up the victim and threatened to kill her if she did not cooperate. After that they threw her out of auto near Kulesra, seven km from sector 37 where they abducted her.

Anit Kumar, the circle officer III of Greater Noida said that “The girl works as a receptionist at an investment company and was returning home to Sarita Vihar when the three men held her at gunpoint and asked her to step into the auto in which they had come. She complied. When they asked her for cash, she told them she did not have any and could give them only after withdrawing it from the ATM,”

Further he told “We made the arrest during a check. The trio opened fired at the police. These men have been involved in robbery incidents in the district. They were caught as part of our drive against active criminals in our area,”
