Toppers from BIMTECH share secrets of their academic prowess, calls their campus ‘Mini India’

Greater Noida (India), 17th April 2023: The Birla Institute of Management Technology held its 35th Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, 15th April.

Students of the 2021-23 batch received their MBA degrees and the outstanding performers were conferred with special awards to celebrate their hard-work and diligence.

The awardees in conversation with Ten News Network reminisced their two years in BIMTECH, their experiences and also expanded on the splendid academics of the institute and their job placement opportunities.

Palak Mittal, a PGDM graduate was honoured with three awards, Gold Medal for Securing Overall First Position in the batch, Special Medal for Securing First Position in the Finance Specialisation Stream and Smt. Madhuri J Seth Award for Best Academic Performance Among Female Students.

Palak took the occasion to thank her teachers, parents and her sister without whom she said her achievements would not have been possible. She shared her elation and said that it was “cumulative effort” to have reached such a milestone in her journey.

Palak also elaborated on how BIMTECH provides students with tools to grow academically and along with that also achieve a holistic growth. She said that through the support of teachers and faculty she was able to transform as a person, become more confident and ready to enter the corporate world.

Sharing her placement journey Ms Mittal said that through BIMTECH’s internship programme itself she was able to receive a PPO, sharing her friends’ experience she said that the institute provided incredible opportunities for students to land placements in good corporations.

Raichel Suseel, who won Smt. Yoshoda Jaju Memorial award for All Round Best Performance Among Female Students (IBM) hails from Kerala and she said that BIMTECH had been a welcoming institute, she said that BIMTECH was ‘Mini India’ where she was able to grow academically and also achieve a holistic growth as a person.

She expressed her elation on the occasion to be able to share this moment with her family who were present at the event. Sharing her experience she said that as an institute BIMTECH focuses on ‘All Round’ improvement and is not exclusive to academia.

Talking about the placement opportunities Ms Suseel said that after landing an internship at LTI, she was able to bag a placement at Marsh India Brokers which is a leading corporation in India. She lauded the institute for giving them excellent pre-placement trainings and help them mould and approach interviews in a confident way.

Lastly Raichel threw light upon her college experience, which included being able to explore new places, hostel memories and form amazing friendships during college.

Another student, Manish Goel received a Special Award for Securing First Position in Operations Specialisations in PGDM, also shared his experience at BIMTECH. He acknowledged the incredible co-curricular and academic opportunities provided at the institute and recalled the numerous events held by the institute, live examples of the industry given by the faculty that helped students learn and prepare for the corporate culture.

He called his experience “thrilling” and said that every day and all the moments during his course have been memorable. When asked about the placements m, he said that the procedure for placements at BIMTECH is very supportive and inclusive, owing to that he said that he was able to be placed at EY and other students have also been able to get placed at some big names in the industry.

Dr CB Gupta Memorial Medal was given to Durgesh Nandan Sarkar for All-round Best Performance Among Male Students PGDM (RM). Like others, Sarkar also described his experience at BIMTECH as extremely positive. He said that his two years at the institute helped him explore himself and his talents, he talked about how the institute has “ample of opportunities” for everyone, no matter what background you hail from.

Durgesh has landed a placement with Reliance Brands Limited as a Retail Planner and when asked about some fun memories he made during his journey, he replied that there is no exclusive incident as everyday at BIMTECH was fun as the faculty of the institute create an easy and inclusive environment during classes so that the students are at ease and can learn comfortably.
