New Delhi, 29th June 2023: Twitter is giving its ‘Blue’ users, premium facilities. Under Elon Musk’s guidance, the microblogging platform, once regarded for being a medium for short messaging, has experienced tremendous modifications. In its most recent move, the firm announced a significant increase in the tweet character limit for its Blue members.

These paying subscribers can now compose tweets with a character restriction of 25,000. This rise comes on the heels of an earlier increase to 4,000 characters for paying customers earlier this year, which was eventually increased to 10,000 characters.

Twitter has increased character limitations for Blue subscribers for the third time this year. Prachi Poddar, a Twitter engineer, announced the news via a tweet.

Her Tweet read, “We have increased NoteTweet (aka longform Tweet) limit from 10k to 25k characters. Enjoy longer NoteTweet and happy tweeting!”

Twitter hopes that by reserving this option for paying members, it would create an additional incentive for users to upgrade their accounts and gain access to unique services.

Twitter expanded the character limit from 140 to 280 characters in 2017, eliciting varied reactions. While some users commended the extension for allowing them to express themselves more fully, others claimed that the platform’s conciseness was its defining feature that should not be sacrificed.

It would be fascinating to watch how Twitter’s recent move to increase the character limit to 25,000 will be greeted by its users.
