UP–India Delegation Secures Strong Global Interest for YEIDA Medical Devices Park at WHX Dubai

Greater Noida News (17 February 2026): A high-level delegation from the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of India concluded a strategic and outcome-driven visit to WHX Dubai (formerly Arab Health), held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, aimed at positioning the Medical Devices Park (MDP) at Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority as a premier global hub for medical device manufacturing and innovation.
The delegation was led by senior policymakers and industry representatives, including Chandra Vijay Singh, Special Secretary, Industries Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, Additional CEO, YEIDA; Hitendra Sahu, Director, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India; and Praveen Kumar Mittal, Executive Director, Export Promotion Council for Medical Devices (EPCMD-India.
During the visit, the delegation held a series of focused one-on-one meetings with leading global MedTech companies and prominent Indian manufacturers, resulting in strong expressions of investment interest and expansion plans at the Medical Devices Park, YEIDA.
Among key outcomes, Disposafe confirmed its intention to apply for an additional 10 acres of land through the Nivesh Mitra Portal to support expansion. Polymedicure announced that construction will soon commence on its already allotted seven-acre plot, while Kusum Healthcare expressed interest in establishing an assistive medical devices manufacturing unit targeting exports to Ukraine and CIS countries.

Discussions with global technology leaders also yielded encouraging signals. Wipro GE Healthcare is positively considering setting up a new manufacturing facility at MDP YEIDA, subject to internal board approval. Productive engagements were also held with Olympus, Siemens Healthineers, and Elekta on potential manufacturing and technology localization at the park.
Stockholm-headquartered Elekta, a global leader in precision radiation medicine for oncology and neurosurgery, highlighted its interest in India’s growing MedTech ecosystem. The company holds a strong second position globally in the radiotherapy segment, which is largely dominated by Elekta and Varian Medical Systems, together accounting for over 90 percent of the global market.
On the infrastructure and compliance front, testing and certification agencies Accuprec and TÜV SÜD were invited to establish ASCA-accredited testing laboratories at the park. Accuprec has already submitted a draft proposal with an estimated investment of ₹250 crore over a five-year period and is scheduled to visit the park in mid-February.
The delegation also initiated strategic discussions with Philips, Fujifilm, and Zimmer Biomet to explore opportunities in localization, advanced manufacturing and MedTech innovation. Indian majors Healthium MedTech and Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices were also encouraged to consider YEIDA for future expansion phases.

In a parallel diplomatic engagement, the delegation met Deepak Mittal, India’s Ambassador to the UAE, and Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India to the UAE. The diplomats were briefed on the park’s unique selling propositions, strategic location, and the presence of 101 companies already allotted land across five government-notified manufacturing segments. The discussions concluded with assurances of support in promoting the Medical Devices Park across UAE investment platforms and exploring potential sovereign wealth fund participation.
The Medical Devices Park at YEIDA is a flagship initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, supported by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India. Designed as a self-sustaining manufacturing ecosystem, the park offers world-class common scientific facilities, robust logistics connectivity and a policy-driven framework to position India as a global MedTech manufacturing powerhouse.
