Chairperson of Uttar Pradesh Women Commission, Vimla Batham on Sunday launched Rainbow Centre For Women Career Counseling and Guidance at Greater Noida.

Co-funded by Erasmus + Programme of the European Union, the facility has come up at Vikramshila Leadership Centre of BIMTECH.

Addressing the launch event, Dr Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH, Greater Noida, said, “This is a research project which is the brainchild of European Union. It is an honour for BIMTECH that we can get associated with such important initiative. In the entire world, women have proved their leadership and since eternity have proved their efficiency in all walks of life. However, in the corporate sector, the presence of women business leaders and entrepreneurs is still not in numbers that they deserve. We lack on that domain when compared to many European countries and other developed nations.”

Outlining the salient features of the initiative, he added, “We have got this project for two years and our partners and faculty members have been trained for it. Its main purpose is to provide proper career guidance to working women as well as to those who want to step into professional world.”

Gracing the event with her presence, Women Commission Chairperson, Vimla Batham also lauded the initiative being undertaken by BIMTECH along with two other universities.

Talking about it, she said, “Same as it’s beautiful name, RAINBOW, the initiative itself has been founded with great detailing and thought process. This training and guidance will certainly benefit the coming generation of women leaders to make their mark in the professional world.”

Sharing her words of wisdom with the students, the ex-MLA of Noida further shared, “In the professional world, it is very important to have and aim and then only you can strive to achieve it. Secondly, one should define their path and strategy to achieve that goal. There should be risk-taking ability and aptitude to be successful and gain prominence in one’s field of choice.”

Event was graced by Manjula Mishra from Laghu Udyog Bharti, Urban Waste Entrepreneur Capt Manju Minhans amongst other leading women entrepreneurs, faculty of BIMTECH and young aspiring women business leaders from BIMTECH.
