Uttar Pradesh : The theme state for 32nd Surajkund International Crafts Mela

Faridabad, the oldest industrial city of Haryana and of NCR would be the center of attraction for the world heritage and tourism industries for another 16 days. Yes, with the 32nd edition of traditional Surajkund Crafts mela was inaugurated on 2nd February at Faridabad. Open from 2nd to 18th February, Mela witnessed elaborate arrangements for security, parking and commuting has been made by the Haryana Government as well as the Mela authorities. This year the partner country to host the annual event is Kirgizstan.
One of the special features of the mela is that Uttar Pradesh has been selected to be the theme state for the first time in all these years. During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditya Nath shared the dais.
Expressing his pleasure on being part of the grand occasion, Yogi Aditya Nath, CM of UP said that this platform is the appropriate one where the art and culture of UP can be displayed on international level. He also thanked his Haryana counterpart for the opportunity. He said that the international Surajkund Craft Mela has established a special place not only in North India but at the global level.
Speaking on the occasion, Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister Haryana said that the Bharat is known for its unity in diversity in terms of art and culture. He said that in order to keep mutual relations strong with the neighbouring states, such events should be organised quiet frequently.He said that in this year’s craft mela the theme state is Uttar Pradesh and hence, Uttar Pradesh would be the driving force of this year’s fair.
On the occasion, Manohar Lal presented a momento and shawl to Yogi Aditya Nath. Other dignitaries, including Minister for women welfare Reeta Bahuguna Joshi were also honoured with Shawl and momento. Yogi Aditya Nath also honoured Manohar lal with a memento and Shawl.
After the formal inauguration ceremony the cultural programs kept going to entertain the visitors.
